Silver Print approximately 11 x 14, framed to 16 x 20
$150
This black and white photograph of a tree bark was custom printed using a seven-step archival process.
The negative was inserted into an enlarger, light transmitted through the transparent and semi-transparent areas, “exposing” the paper and “burning” an image on to it.
The paper was immersed in a 1:3 Dektol developing solution and agitated continuously for two minutes.
It was placed in acidic acid indicator stop bath solution for 30-60 seconds,
Fixed or 4-5 minutes,
Immersed in a secondary fixing bath for 4-5 minutes,
Rinsed for 5-10 minutes
Given a photo flow bath for 2-3 minutes (to reduce final washing time)
A final wash for a minimum of 15 minutes removed all chemical residue.
Once thoroughly washed, the excess water was removed and the print placed on a fiberglass screen to air dry.
It has been matted with rag-board and framed.
